Zusammenfassung
Zusammenfassung: Es wird über die unbemerkte Aspiration eines großen Zahnprothesenfragmentes (2 x 4 cm) nach Airbag-Unfall durch eine zu keinem Zeitpunkt in ihrer Bewußtseinslage eingeschränkte Patientin berichtet. Die Besonderheit dieses Falles ist zum einen die Größe des Fragmentes, zum anderen das Ausbleiben von klinischen Hinweisen, die eine Fremdkörperaspiration solchen Ausmaßes normalerweise begleiten.
Es werden ähnlich seltene Verletzungen durch ausgelöste Airbags, die veröffentlicht wurden, vorgestellt. Es wird die Aufmerksamkeit auf mögliche Verletzungsmuster bei ausgelöstem Airbag gelenkt.
Nach Airbag-Auslösung ist auch bei geringer Unfallrasanz jeder Patient als potentiell vital bedroht anzusehen. Es sind "Airbag-typische" Verletzungen auszuschließen. Es ist zu eruieren, ob sich zum Zeitpunkt des Unfalls ein Gegenstand zwischen Patient und Airbag befunden hat,der dann für seltene spezifische Verletzungen verantwortlich sein kann. Das System Airbag bedarf einer weiteren Optimierung,um Verletzungen durch seine Auslösung zu minimieren. Es ist u.a. auch ein Mindestabstand zwischen Fahrzeuginsassen und Armaturenbrett zu definieren.

Summary:In the present study,we report an unnoticed aspiration of a large fragment of a denture (2 x 4 cm) after airbag deployment in a patient who was fully con-scious at any moment of the accident.What is remark-able about this case is the size of the fragment as well as the absence of clinical signs and symptoms that would normally be associated with a foreign body aspiration of such extent.Other similarly rare cases of air-bag-induced injuries will also be presented and it will be discussed which types of injury may typically occur with airbag activation.
Basically, every airbag deployment must be regarded as a vital indication for immediate care of the potenti-ally harmed patient,even if the accident appears to be minor. "Classic" airbag-related injuries have to be excluded and it has to be investigated whether some kind of object was in between the patient and the air-bag at the time of the accident, to which rare specific injuries may be attributed.Further optimisation of the airbag system is needed to minimise the harmful con-sequences of its activation. Moreover, a minimum space between the dashboard and the driver and pas-sengers has to be defined.
