Zusammenfassung
Zusammenfassung: Es wird der Fall einer akzidentel-len intravenösen Infusion des Antiseptikums Lava-sept® (Firma Fresenius) geschildert. Informationen von den Vergiftungszentralen und der Firma ergaben keine konkreten Behandlungsrichtlinien für eine versehentliche Infusion.
Die intensivmedizinische Prophylaxe und Behandlung bestand in der Vermeidung allergischer Reaktionen, der beschleunigten Elimination sowie der Kreislaufunterstützung des beatmeten Patienten. Trotz des wohl häufigeren Auftretens einer akzidentellen Infusion dieses Antiseptikums ist eine Beschreibung des intensivmedizinischen Vorgehens und des Outcomes bislang in der Literatur nicht erfolgt.
Summary
Summary:The present report describes the accidental infusion of 800 ml of Lavasept®,a topical antimicrobi-al solution (produced by Fresenius).Requests made to different toxicological centres as well as to the manufacturer of Lavasept® did not reveal any precise recom-mendations or therapeutic strategies of how to pro-ceed in such a situation,although this type of acciden-tal infusion appears to occur rather frequently because of the way in which Lavasept® is prepared.Therefore, the measures taken after the infusion were focused on the prevention of allergic reactions as described in the literature, an accelerated elimination of the antiseptic agent, and the support of cardiovascular function by adrenergic substances. The following article describes for the first time the management and care in the case of an intravenous administration of Lavasept® and the subsequent clinical outcome.
