Zusammenfassung: Im 2. Quartal 2003 hat das Deutsche Institut für Medizinische Dokumentation und Information (DIMDI) seinen Erweiterungskatalog zum Operationsschlüssel OPS 301 vorgelegt. Diese Version soll die künftigen Kalkulationsarbeiten für die deutschen Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs) unterstützen und kann fakultativ in den Kranken-häusern verwendet werden.
Neben dieser eher praktischen Anpassung hat nun auch der Bundestag in seiner Sitzung am 11.04.2003 dem Kompromissvorschlag des Vermittlungsausschusses für das 12.Änderungsge-setz zum Sozialgesetzbuch V zugestimmt und damit den Verhandlungsweg für die Ausgestaltung des DRG-Systems auf lokaler Ebene eröffnet.

Summary: In the second quarter of 2003 the German Institute of Medical Documentation and Information (DIMDI) has presented a new extension catalogue to its official "Operationenschlüssel OPS 301", a proce-dure classification code for hospital reimbursement according to the Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG)-based payment system. This new, supplementary classification tool is meant to facilitate future DRG-related calculation processes and is made available to the German hospitals for optional use. In addition to this rather practical improvement, the German Bundestag (Lower House of Parliament) agreed on 11 April 2003 to the compromise proposal put forward by the mediation committee on the 12th Amendment of the Social Security Code V. This agreement opens up new negotiation opportunities for the implemen-tation and adaptation of the German DRG-System at the local level.
