Zusammenfassung:Wir berichten über einen Fall einer folgenlosen akzidentellen epiduralen Applikation von Amoxicillin/Clavulansäure über einen Epidural-katheter. In der Literatur sind Berichte über akziden-telle epidurale Applikationen von Substanzen mit unbekannten Auswirkungen im Epiduralraum recht selten.
Berichte und persönliche Mitteilungen deuten jedoch auf eine bemerkenswerte Anzahl derartiger Zwischenfälle, die unveröffentlicht bleiben, hin. Wir empfehlen, jeden Fall einer akzidentellen epiduralen Applikation von nicht für diesen Zweck zugelassenen Substanzen zu publizieren oder eine zentrale Datenbank für derartige Zwischenfälle zu errichten.
Summary
Summary:We report on a case of accidential epidural application of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid through an epidural catheter without neurologic sequelae. Generaly, reports of accidental applications of sub-stances with unknown site of action in the epidural space are rare in the literature. However our findings (unpublished reports and personal communications) suggest a remarkable number of such incidents,remai-ning unpublished. We strongly recommend the publication of any case of accidental application of unap-proved substances in the epidural space or the installation of a central database for these incidents.
