Summary Summary: Continuous (fractional) spinal anaesthesia is a type of spinal anaesthesia in which the local an- aesthetic is not administered as a single shot but injected in fractional doses over a period of 10 to 15 minutes. This divided administration of a relatively large dose of anaesthetic offers the possibility to prolong surgical analgesia without simultaneously increasing the spread of spinal anaesthesia. We report on our experiences based on this method in 37 patients.
