Zusammenfassung: Der Operationsbereich stellt eine der teuersten Ressourcen in deutschen Krankenhäusern dar. Um sich im Zeitalter der Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) professionell auf eine zunehmende Prozeßorientierung auszurichten, ist es erforderlich, klare und unmißverständlich formulierte Managementkonzepte auch im Krankenhaus zu etablieren.
Der vorliegende Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die Einführung einer professionellen OPGeschäftsordnung im Rahmen des Aufbaus eines "Dienstleistungscentrums OP" an einer deutschen Universitätsklinik. Es soll denen als Gerüst dienen, die derzeit mit der Einführung eines professionellen OPManagements beschäftigt sind.

Summary: The operating theatre is one of the most expensive facilities in German hospitals. In order to meet the increasing demands for a professional and process-oriented management in the age of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs), it will be necessary to introduce clear and unambiguous management concepts in all hospitals. This article describes the implementation of professional statutes for the operating theatre as a "service centre" at a German university hospital. It is intended to give professionals who are involved in the introduction of future-oriented operating room management systems a practical idea of how to cope with this task.
